Making a Complete Stop (Lytx)
What this Lytx alert means
This alert is triggered when the vehicle slows but does not come to a full stop at a stop sign, at a stop line on the pavement, or an intersection.
Why it matters
Rolling stops reduce a driver’s ability to fully scan their surroundings and increase the risk of collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.
What Lytx looks for
- Vehicle speed reaching zero
- No wheel movement for approximately 3 seconds
- Stop sign or intersection visible during the event
How to make a complete stop
Brake smoothly until the vehicle fully stops. Pause briefly so the wheels show no movement, then proceed only after checking all directions and confirming the intersection is clear.
Quick reminder
If the wheels don’t stop, it’s not a stop.
